CT 48 Dust Extractor stopped working

I have a 3 year old CT 48 Dust extractor that has seen intermittent light use.  In the middle of using the track saw the vacuum stopped working. I was using at TS75 which continued to run (powered through the CT48).  The vacuum will not turn on, however, it is possible to run a tool through the vacuum. The vacuum was not hot and had been used intermittently for an hour or two. Any ideas on what might be wrong?  Probably a circuit board problem or something...

Sounds like the control board. Other option might be the motor coals, that would be a cheap fix, but unlikely in case it hasn't seen much use...

Can you still turn it on by setting the switch to manual? Did you try turning it off an on again (unplug for a while)?

In case it's only short over warranty I would politely ask Service if goodwill is possible (as tools shouldn't die directly after warranty ended), should it still be in warranty then send it in ASAP.

If the manual and auto functions work with the tool on the vacuum, the electronics is probably fine, sounds like it is motor oriented, something as simple as carbon brushes (for the non EC units). They can stop after 500-800 hours of use depending on speed/load/conditions.The cost for that should be a 2digit number if i am not mistaken
