There probably isn't a instruction written today that doesn't instruct one to unplug a tool after you are done using it but how many do?  I don't always.  I don't have a CT but a Pullman-Holt S25 which has the same auto function.  It's been plugged in for weeks, sometimes OFF but sometimes left in Auto mode with my RO125 plugged into it.

I happen to touch the area just above the function switch and it was noticeably warmer the rest of it.  It appears to be drawing a bit of power when left in this mode.  I'm guessing that the CT's are the same.  I've been shutting OFF but forget to turn in back ON before using the sander which still gets powered and I'll notice the dust then.

right or wrong, I leave mine on auto all the time.  If I need to be safe like when I'm changing a router bit, I'll simply disconnect the plug-it cord.
