The power socket on my CT Mini is loose and tool cords fall out pretty easily. Searching the board I found others had similar issues and had replaced the socket. I order a Festool 704570 Socket 120V, CT11-48/CT Mini which I just received.

The cover for the old socket states that tool up to 15 amp can be used. The new cover included with the new socket states to use tools that only draw up to 3.7 amps. The new socket seems much more substantial than the old socket. Is the new cover correct? Did I get the correct part?

The wording on the sticker is the result of UL bureaucracy. Don't run with scissors in your hand. Don't drive your car over 5 mph in a parking lot. Never look directly at the sun.  [big grin]

The warning on the cover has come up many times here on the FOG.  It is a formality for UL approval (as Rick mentioned)and can largely be ignored.  The real limiting factor is the circuit you have the vac+tool plugged into.  On a 20 amp circuit you can run pretty much any Festool tool with the vac.  The only tools that you might have problems tripping the circuit is OF2200+vac and maybe the Kapex+vac.

Thanks for the feedback.. I think I'll re-use the old cover when I make the swap.  [wink]
