CT Mini outlet.

This is one of my biggest complaints with Festool.  I worked in a shop that had several CT Mini's and now I have one at home.  They all have the same problem with the outlet losing it's grip.  The one I have at home hasn't seen very much use and is already loose.  The problem is in the design of the outlet.  The Festool outlet is only a single swipe.  That means that each blade of the plug is held in with one spring loaded blade (a swipe) in the outlet.  Outlets like this are the lowest quality available.  Better quality outlets will have two and even three swipes.

Welcome to the forum, I wish your first post was under better circumstances. If you're having issues with your outlet, please give our service department a call and they can send you a replacement that's user replaceable. If you're not comfortable with the replacement, we can replace it for you under warranty if you want to make arrangements for service. We pay for shipping both ways the first year of warranty, during the second and third year the customer is responsible for shipping to the service center and we pay for return shipping.

Not sure how old your CT is but my Mini which is about 9 months old has what appears to be a new design recptical.  much better connection, my 36 AC also appears to have the updated piece.

Yup I went to get a replacement(yet again) and noticed a new beefier replacement plug.
My advice is to order one. They are so much better!!!

As a result of my post, Festool reached out to me and sent a replacement for my outlet.  It is a new design and is double swipe.  I expect this to last far longer than the previous one.

Great to hear - thats been an issue for me too!    I'll have to give them a call, very frustrating to have your power cord unplug itself intermittently!  Wish there was a way to lock it in

Great Post. I've had problems with sockets that they send me new ones and i always keep an extra on hand. I heard they subbed them out to a US company (the US plugs) and so we have problems. The more often we point them out, the more likely Tootec will spend the money and improve the tool.

The other trick i find that helps (others may have mentioned it) is to push the prongs of the plug gently together, i get better grip and better connection. . ..
