CT Sys pulsing

Recently, from time to time, I have noticed that when in use, my 2018 CT Sys dust extractor will start to pulse- it is like it is turning off and on every second or so. When it first started happening I would turn it off and tap it/kick it/whatever. Probably a coincidence but eventually it would start working properly. Today it refuses to function properly. I opened the unit, removed the filter and bag. Still refuses to work properly.

Any suggestions?

Just to be sure, it’s actually really powering up and down, as in the turbine changing RPM? Or is it the protection valve cycling? The latter I have heard of, and I think there is actually a spare part/ DIY fix to it. I just need to remember where I actually read about it. I will post a link when I remember.

If it’s really a loss of power/ turbine changing RPM in a constant cycle, send it to Festool/ drop it off at a dealer. I don’t think I have heard or read about this issue before.

Kind regards,
Oliver

Thanks for the reply Oliver, much appreciated. Yeah, it sounds like it has reached full RPM, then the noise dies off and it sounds like it is reaching full rpm again. It is a pulsing noise. Someone on UK Workshop reported the same problem last year.

EDIT- I from what I can see, it is nothing to do with the protection baffle.

I have this same issue with mine; i just assumed it was the long life bag in it, and figured just need to swap in a reg bag and see if its still the same issue, just hadn't had time.

I was having a similar issue yesterday with mine. It does seem like the protection/bypass in mine, as it trips if a block it a little bit more. If anyone has a solution for that issue, would be helpful.
