This is definitely an anecdotal tale, but wanted to share in case it's useful today or someday when searched for.

I got the CT-VA and hooked up a short length of D36 hose between the CT 26 and the CT-VA, because bigger is better obvi. Not the case. I filled up a bag over the course of a month (and after about 5 bin's worth of emptying*) - and suction seemed to be less than with the D27 supplied with the unit. (Suction... key word there, not airflow.)

I swapped the D36 back to the D27 that came with the VT and so far it's working as advertised - no bag filling up and noticeably more suction. I think the Festool engineers knew what they were doing when they chose the 27 over the 36.

*The bin's max capacity seems to be about 75% before it starts sending debris into the vac itself. I'm trying to make a habit of just emptying it after the close of each woodworking session.
