My CT33 is constantly running in Auto mode, even with no tool plugged in.  It happened when I was sawing 1 5/8 thick oak.  The saw was struggling a bit, could this have caused something to go bad in the vac?

Hi Nick.  Sorry to see your first post here being about a tool problem.  I would suggest that you contact Festool service on Monday.  Their number is one your tool.

Will do, a quick search through the forum revealed another complaint about the same problem.  I've PM'd the original poster to see if they have found a fix.  Has anyone had a similar issue and if so a recommended fix?  I'm sure all of you DIY'ers out there can understand my hope of fixing this myself without having to go through the manufacturer... although I understand that may be the only option at this point.

Hi Nick,

Welcome to the FOG!  [smile]

You will not have the usual problems of going through the manufacturer when dealing with Festool. Give them a call Monday if you don't have it figured out. Service # in my sig line.

Is it typical to leave a message at 9:30 and 5 hours later not have received a callback? [huh]

Understood, thanks.  Looks like another circuit board fried by the Oneida Dust Deputy [censored].  I got a call back from a Festool rep. who was very knowledgeable and willing to help.  I also have a CT22, apparently the only difference between the CT22 and CT33 is the container.  After swapping the circuit boards to ensure my motor wasn't fried as well everything worked great.  $120 for a board and a Dust Deputy in the fireplace tonight to stay warm should help ease the frustration...  [thumbs up]

I did, they offered a retrofit kit... I'm just not sure I'm willing to risk future damage due to a patch on an inferior product.  Bags are cheap.

My ac36 had a board short too. It wasn't due to the UDD because I wasn't using it when it shorted. Looks like you don't have the ultimate dust deputy by your post.    I've been using the UDD for a while with nothing but what it came with and it works great.  Things happen, but it's not necessarily due to the Dust deputy, and I'll be sure to post if anything happens while using it.  I'm sure there are many who also use it with no issues, but if something happens to the board while someone's using it, obviously they will probably blame Oneida when it may not be their products fault. If you have the UDD, I'd love to buy it off you if you lived close by.  I use PVC a lot, and nothing makes more static so if my Oneida would have been a problem, I'm sure I'd know by now.
