Has anyone been able to compare the CTC SYS run time with the new tabless batteries vs the old batteries? Considering buying one, but the 10 to 15 minute run time is problematic.
They're about 6 months away for us in Oz!Stay tuned...the tabless batteries aren't scheduled to be released for at least the next 2 months.![]()
Ours are listed as Sep/Oct!I saw something the other day from Festool, where it was suggested that the tabless TBX 4 wasn't going to be released until 2027...,![]()
Based off the tabless runtime on Makita’s 40v mini extractor you might get 3-5 minutes extra. Not game changing IMO.Has anyone been able to compare the CTC SYS run time with the new tabless batteries vs the old batteries? Considering buying one, but the 10 to 15 minute run time is problematic.
One reason could be reliability concerns with cells (selection).I saw something the other day from Festool, where it was suggested that the tabless TBX 4 wasn't going to be released until 2027...Which begs the question, if most of the recently released Festool cordless products will accept 4.0 batteries but not accept 8.0 batteries...why are the tabless 8.0 batteries being released first?
That was also my assumption, the teething issues with the 4.0 HP battery cells haven't been fully circumvented for the TBX 4.One reason could be reliability concerns with cells (selection).
If you remember the issue with some 4.0 HP cells .. if reliability testing from sample production runs did not end with satisfactory results and adjustments to cells selection criteria are necessary the 4.0 5-cell packs would be the ones impacted the most.
