CTL 26E not starting

Hey All,

My CTL 26E is 3 years old, has had very light use, and will not start. The power outlet still works, in both Auto and Manual, but the vacuum never starts. I guess it's either the control board (nothing looks burnt) or the motor (brushes are fine by the way, and it's spotlessly clean). Anyone know what resistance I can expect on the motor terminals?

Update: Motor is good, bypassed the electronics, and it runs fine. Will do until I get hold of a new control board. Not sure if there's an inline fuse or overtemp device on the control board that I'm bypassing...

Mine only works on manual.

You might take the switch out and clean it to see if that solves the problem.

Any luck with the repair? Seems I'm having the same issue, but I have clear damage on the circuit board (IC blew on left top corner).

I will go for the board replacement, just worried that something else caused the board to fail. I guess the motor is the only other part that could be malfunctioning? Maybe I should go for the bypass like you did and confirm that the motor is doing what it should do....
