Is any one else having problems using the reusable bag on the CTL midi.

I am finding my filter getting caked up all the time because the seal between the dust port and the bag is poor.

At first I thought I hadn't fitted the bag correctly but it keeps doing it.

I might aswell not have the reusable bag in and just have the filter its that bad.

That sounds weird I am reusing the standard ones and I have cut the bottom open at the seem and resealing it with strong paper clips it's working great and no dust escapes. Maybe you have a bad batch with dodgy seals

Maybe it's NAINA, but I don't know of a long life filter bag for the MINI/MIDIs. Are you using the one for the larger CTs with it?

Ok, NAINA.

Did you inspect the bag for damage, rips, perforations, etc.?

I assume it was folded over before you put the plastic slide-on clasp on?

Yeah checked bag and everything.

I have had a reusable bag for my CT22 for years and I have one for my CTL26 both work perfectly fine .

I can see where it's all coming out which is around the hole where the vacuum goes into.

I'll take a picture.  It happens pretty quickly 10mins vacuuming and you start to see a dirty filter and stuff all on the wrong side of the bag.

I have had the bag for a while just not used it much and only the other day thought the suction had reduced the bag must be full to find its all caked up.

Thinking maybe I installed it wrong.  Only to find it has done it again and again.

Here is a picture.    The bag was emptied and cleaned and so were the filters.    After just 10mins using the vacuum you can see the filters are already getting caked up

Hello JMB

According to your picture it seems to me that you are missing a round, transparent plastic part from the dust hole in your filter bag. Because that part is missing, the bag is "leaking" from the dust hole. This round, plastic part should be included with the bag. The same kind of part is also in the reusable bag of CTL 22 and CTL 26.

Sparepart number is 478916. I think it should apply also in the UK.

Ah yes I can see.

Thank you very much.

Only emptied the bag once since we had it.  So it was missing from day one.

I can see the little lugs were the white ring would clip onto.  I'll give festool a ring tomorrow.

Thank you again.

JMB I have had similar issues with festool they told me its only the tools that are guaranteed, and that accessories are NOT guaranteed for any more than two months

So if you want it sorted I would say,get hold of your rep and see what he can do... for me the issues seems to be that you are dealing with germans and they seem to look at customer service from a different angle

It's sorted now.    I have retracted my comment above

Happy me now

That is against European rules. ANYTHING you buy should work properly for a reasonable amount of time. Most manufacturers translate this to a 1 year warranty. The European rules are actually a bit vague about how long this period should be precisely, but they suggest it should be 2 to 5 years at least, depending on the product.

Cases are known where the manufacturer only gave 1 year warranty but after being sued by consumer rights groups had to extend it for a longer period.
