CTl Midi vs new CTl Sys vac

Hi all. Sorry if this has been asked before but I am looking for a second vac.
I'm a second fix carpenter and use a CTl midi but get fed up plugging and unplugging the hoses and my kapex and other plug it leads in to the Vac. I was thinking of having a vac just for the Kapex alone and wondered what option you guys might take?
One benefit I can see for the new Sys vac is size as I do not have a workshop everything is in my van.

Not having a midi my comment may not address your complete concern. I do have a ct22. At the 2015 Festool Connect a ts55 battery model was demonstrated. They rip cut a small piece of plywood and showed the resulting amount of dust collected for two cuts. I found the amount was quite a bit more than I had expected.
Since the Kapex will do a lot of cutting my concern would be 'does the ctl sys' have enough volume in the bag.

How does the Midi hold up with the amount of cutting today ?
 
  I could see it working well for a Kapex vac. It really depends on how much cutting you do with the Kapex. Do you have an idea of how often you need to change the bag on your Midi?  Use that as a measure taking into account that the SYS CTL would be dedicated to the Kapex.

You could pair the Sys vac with one of these and use it for your Kapex.  That would give you some additional flexibility for other uses.  But remember, the Sys vac does not have a very large bag.

I'm not sure how much dust my Kapex produces alone as my vac collects from all my other Festoys too. If space wasn't such an issue then I would just buy another midi but the ctl sys might just fill the requirement nicely but want to make sure it's capable and not going to be a waste of money and making me wish I'd bought another midi instead.

Any chance this is coming to the states? if so when?

Does it have the same performance as the CT vacs?
 
Got me thinking now..... You could make a support that clips onto the ug stand for the ctl sys to clip onto. I know I've seen someone do this with a midi but I'm sure it would look better with the ctl sys. Just the small capacity to worry about but I don't think you need massive capacity with a kapex usually.

No, we don't tend to use HEPA ratings in Europe, at least, not for industrial stuff. It's rated class 'L'. I'm sure it will be HEPA rated if it comes to the US though.
 
eagles21, the installed power socket on the CTL sys is max. 1200 W, I think the Kapex is some 1600W. Might be a something to consider.

At full stall.

Especially with soft-start, it shouldn't be an issue unless you attack lots of hard and thick wood (that's what she said).
 
Let's get that sys vac here in Canada asap. I'd buy one tomorrow if I could. It would be so much more convenient towards the end if a job when the house is getting its last touches. My carpenters would be more apt to glean up as they go if they didn't have to lug a ct 36 around with them, lazy b****s....
Anyway I want one!

Hadn't considered the wattage? Most of the cutting I do with the kapex is smaller stuff (kitchen cornice, pelmet etc) but occasionally have to cut 4 or 5 x2 and wouldn't want to overload a ctl sys vac.
Would be interesting to hear from those who have bought one already what their experiences are.
