...according to Fed-Ex tracking, anyway. Unfortunately, I'm 200+ miles from home and won't be home until Saturday afternoon [mad] (I didn't know until too late that it was being despatched).

Additionally, there's no-one home, so I've no idea where the nice Fed-Ex driver has 'delivered' it to! Hopefully it's with a neighbour and not in the front yard. [unsure]

I'm hoping to do a video review of it when I get back.

Our first shipment has arrived this morning and many will be shipped out tonight to customers for tomorrow...

If you haven't ordered one and would like one for tomorrow, order by 4pm and you can have one too, for only £226.80 inc VAT.

Either way, have a great day, the sun is shining here in Woking!

Best regards

Warren

Well, I got back home late Saturday afternoon, to find a note in the letterbox from the FedEx guy directing me to these rather sorry looking boxes outside the house:

They'd been sat there for about 80 hours. Luckily, it seems there were only a couple of showers during that time, and not a heavy downpour. The box on top came off worse, and protected the CTL-SYS box from most of the water. Unfortunately, the top box held 2 boxes of spare bags, one of which got a bit soggy:

Anyway, it's not the end of the world. The initial disappointment waned somewhat once I opened up the CTL-SYS.

I didn't get chance at the weekend, as I got back a bit later than I'd hoped. Got a busy few weeks ahead, but I'm in the workshop all this week so may be able to shoot something in amongst other work.

I did take it to a job today, and used it on a worktop change. Using it brought up a couple of things I'd like to mention in the review, so it was a good job I got to use it first!

I did some minor wall sanding today with the RTS400 and the CTL SYS and if I let the sander go it would stick to the ceiling  [eek] it was a little jumpy at times due to the suction power. Virtually zero dust on the floor (!) and sanding disc looked like new. When I tooj the sander off the hose the hose did spew out a lot of dust so I had to clean that up... ...should have left the VAC running a few more seconds I guess.

The CTL-SYS has no variable speed so it would be nice to throttle it down by adding something closer to the hose to regulate suction.

No variable speed on a Festool VAC; you have got to be kidding me!  [eek]

Edit
Just looked at UK website -
[size=10pt] . . .
Ideally suited to smaller-scale grinding, sawing and drilling jobs
Ideal for final clean-up . .'

[size=14pt]
Note:  no mention of sanding.

Is anyone thinking of suspending one of these above their main work bench? Could aliviate the need for boom arm or bungie cord.

But with no variable speed, I think this item may get crossed off my 'wish list'. Will see what reviewers/users say here on FOG.

Anyone check if the Bosch hose ends fit? They have an adjustable bypass built into the nozzle (note the red collar).

While I was very enthousiastic about the idea of this suitcase vac when I first heard about it, the lack of variable suction did make me think twice. I don't think variable suction is important when you're removing paint, but I was finish sanding 5 doors yesterday with the ETS125 and Mini, and I had to turn the suction all the way down to the minimum or it would have been impossible.

Altough I love the idea of the smallest package possible, I can't go somewhere to do a job and find I can't do all tasks with the CTL Sys. I still can't believe they chose to ommit this very usefull feature. Size nor price can be an issue since in Europe even the smallest and cheapest vacs have variable suction.

It doesn't look like we'll see this in NA. Too bad, it would really help my workflow. [/img]

Not true - The 'VAC-SYS' is the vacuum clamping system, and is completely different to the 'CTL-SYS', which is the extractor.

I think it's already been stated that the CTL-SYS will make it to NA eventually.

Oops!!! Thanks for setting me straight! That's promising news. The CTL 26 is a bit big for many projects.  Thanks again!!

Just remember Jonny that you can only use the CTL SYS with special festool dust. Use of non festool dust could void your warranty [emoji6]
