Hi, is it possible to have power on the primary socket without starting the extraction? My previous non-festool extractor could deliver power as simple extension. To my surprise CTM26 does not work this way… Sometimes it is usefull to have power but do not need the hoovering.

The use guide says:

Code:
The switch [1-11] serves as an on/off switch.

"0" switch position
Appliance socket [1-4] is disconnected from the power, mobile dust extractor is switched off.

"MAN" switch position
Appliance socket [1-4] is connected to the power, the mobile dust extractor starts.

"Auto" switch position
Appliance socket [1-4] is connected to the power, the mobile dust extractor starts when the connected tool is switched on.

The user manual is accurate.  There is no power to the outlet on the vac unless the unit is switched on.

I don't know if this was the case in the older (CT-22, CT-33) models or if it's always been that way.

With my older CT22 there was no power to the socket when the vac was set to manual mode, so you  couldn't have the vac run continuously when you wanted to (like when making repetitive cuts on the kapex),
With the ctl26 you can do this, I also liked to use the vac as an extention cord, and since I have a 240v version, I put in a secondary socket without the auto on feature... (I bought one of both to be able to swap if needed)
My conclusion was that it's much more annoying that the vac didn't turn on if I (or mostly, someone else) used the wrong outlet by mistake, than having the vac turn on when it was not needed. (If there's no power to the socket when the vac is off, you won't start the tool and start cutting without extraction by mistake)

Fair enough - the mistake (starting tool without dust extraction) happened from time to time.

BTW I am planning to install BT module so the second socket is not the option for me.
