I purchased a brand new CTM26 several weeks ago. Finally went to use it on the weekend but it keeps beeping.

I followed the FAQ on the Australian Festool site - it made no difference.
Machine beeps with no filter, no bag, no hose; at all hose size and suction settings!

I am taking it back to the shop tomorrow and have been told it will be sent for repair rather than swapped?!

Does anyone know how the flow sensor is calibrated? I am curious to learn if they are tested against an accredited reference or is it a case of simply replacing a module?

I do not know how exactly, but it can be done only by the service center on a case-by-case basis and there is a warning in eKat that the electronics board cannot be self-service replaced due to a need for this calibration.

I would presume that an electronics board calibrated on one vac/body cannot just be swapped to another vac body. I guess that is because the sensor is likely affected by altitude /pretty sure the same sensor would not work in Tibet that would work in Beijing for example/ as well as the variance of the motor/ducts etc.

Either way, the service center has ways to check the electronics module, so if there is a problem with it they would swap it.

As for the dealer, they could have eaten the loss and just gave you a different unit - it is their choice. If they register it as "customer service repair" you should request they have the vac shipped to you. No need wasting time shipping it to dealer who is not helpful and then you having to pick it up from there. The All-inclusive service you are entitled to includes shipping both ways.

There's one owned by a local company of painters (decorating, not carspraying) who have a CTM26 and it just beeps constantly, the owner reckons it's not blocked but mine doesnt do it, mine only beeps when the hose is blocked or the bag is full.

In short, mines ok but I have at least heard of the issue in another unit., its not just yours.
