you guys talking about all these new sanders and abrasives make me wonder what I'm missing. I first encountered FESTOOL via a very tough sanding job. Lucky for me my friendly SEVEN CORNERS HARDWARE (RiP) suggested a FESTOOL sander and abrasive along with a FEIN dust collector. THis was shortly after FESTOOL showed up in the US.
Wow, was I blown away with the performance of the whole system. Used so little abrasive that I still have a couple of boxes left over. I had bought the abrasive in the expectation it would use the "normal" amount for the big job. A memorable and pleasant surprise.
Someday I'll learn more about sanding in and out with FESTOOL.

A Walko4 on a pair of Stanley horses works well for me. After dimensioning sheet goods I can use a
couple of MFT tops and make some cabinets.
