I ripped a couple panels with the saw set to 45 ( angle pointer actually appears to be at about 46 when set to max, and points to zero when square)and my two panels met at approx 93 deg. I noticed this after cutting all the biscuit slots!  What is happening here?

Check the saw with a good reference machinists 45* triangle and adjust the saw's bevel stop before continuing or guessing, would be the first thing I'd do.

Yup, check it with a square. And if you lock the plunge (like for blade changing) it will be easier to check.

Thanks guys. I saw the screws for the 90 deg. setting but not the 45 deg. setting. A lesson in reading the manuals!!!
