I'm in the process of reevaluating my DC situation in my garage.  Currently, I have a CT22 with the boom arm that's dedicated solely to my Festool collection.  I also have a Jet canister 1.5 HP DC for my jointer, planer and band saw.  I also have an older sears general purpose shop vac that doesn't' see much action.  I bought a dust deputy kit yesterday with the idea of hooking it up to my shop vac and then with a 2.5" hose attach that to router table and other stationary tools when needed.  I never run more than one tool at a time and the DW 735 is going to be used very sparingly now that I have decided to let my local wood supplier S2S for .20/bf.  My time is worth more than that!  That being said, I'm thinking of donating the sears SV to my brother in law.  It's very loud and has a lousy filtration system.  What do you expect for a $60 SV?  Then, I'm going to get a Fein Turbo I, maybe a II and hook up the DD to it so I have quiet vac with a HEPA system.  At that point, would the Fein have enough ooomph to properly do the job for the planer, BS and router table?  I know the DD only has a 5 gallon capacity but I don't mind emptying it all that often.  The only thing that would fill it quickly would be the 735 which is going to be sitting idle 95% of the time.  I'll put the Jet in my father in law's garage for safe keeping until I can get a bigger shop someday which would free up some valuable space.

A turbo I will no way handle a planer for more than a few minutes. A Turbo II is border line. But  Turbo III will help with the larger capacity, I have all the Fein vacs and the Dusty deputy and anything less than the Fein II with the deputy just will not handle the planer. I would really suggest the Turbo III with its larger capacity for a planer though.

I thought about that but 99% of the dust is going to be captured in the DD bucket.  I expect very little in the way of dust to be in the shop vac itself.  I was looking for it to provide the power, noise reduction and filtering.  That's why I was leaning towards getting the smaller unit.  If I was going to spend that much, I'd just go ahead and get a CT 36 but I didn't think it was necessary.

Yeah , but you can get the old model Turbo II or III new or refurbished for 1/2 the price. 269.00 including shipping here is a great deal:

Totally worth it. I have 4 of these baby's. You can look even further and get them less with free shipping too.

Believe me there is not a whole lot of difference between this and my CT'33's. Yes, the CT's are better, but at this price it sounds like they are perfect for what you are doing. And the Fein Turbo III is just as good as the Festool CT33(in certain ways better), but the Festool is just simpler to keep dustless when changing bags so I give the nod to the CT's overall.
