Hi guys,

So the charger for my CXS batteries are currently dead, no blinks sounds or anything when plugged in. I just wanted to ask here if anyone else experienced this, and have any tips?

Its outside of warranty, would buying a new charger be cheaper than sending it in for repair (will it even be repaired?).

Norwegian user here :)

EDIT: Oh, and I've opened it.. The fuse is intact, don't know what else I can check for in there.

When you open a Festool charger you'll find that all that's inside is 1 circuit board. That's the entire charger, with some plastic around it.

No idea how Festool prices and availabilty are in Norway, but here in Holland a new charger costs €64 while the circuit board to repair the charger would cost €100 + labour + shipping.

Easy choice.

Forgive me asking the obvious - are you plugging into a socket with power to it?
Also, have you checked the 5 amp fuse in the plug itself?
Is it possible the lead from the plug to the charger is damaged?

There is nothing else you can check yourself.  A competent, experienced electronic technician - used to
fault finding to component level could make further checks - maybe even repair it; but hardly worth the effort.

As Alex suggests - just get a new one; or maybe a used second drill with charger??

One could check if the AC was getting to the board, or ideally one who knows how.

Sorry I didnt come back to you guys :)

We dont have a fuse in the AC plug in Norway. I've also measured it to reach the board so I know its not the cable.

Seems to be a capasitor, but it's beyond me to change that on this piece
