Deal on Centrotec installers kit

Thats a great idea but they really dont need to. The whole point of having a festool drill is that you use the centrotec otherwise you take away much of the benefits. So not in their interests to do too much on the pricing. I have the centrotec although not bought in a kit just the selection of bits i needed.

Your right the Centrotec system is part of the drills attraction. If you attract more adopters of the system you increase sales and introduce more to the Festool range of products, which is in their interest. Adding up the individual components of the kits offered the sum of it's parts is greater than the whole so a deal is already there so I'm suggesting if you can pull together the components of your choice your more likely to buy a kit rather than just the few bits you need at the higher individual prices.

Just a note to check your contents. I jumped on the deal and received the set today. Went for the MO700 and after looking over the goodies I found the 5-15mm countersink missing. Contacted Toolnut and advised them and am awaiting an answer. Sent them a picture of the contents.

All my dealings with them have been good so I think this situation will have a good resolution.

They'll fix it Jim. Sean and PJ are the guys. They will get back to you really quick if you emailed. Remember the customer service guys work week days. I believe not weekends.

Not sure what the current situation is (in the UK), however, occasionally you see an earlier year's kit being sold off for a good price.  Only difference is that the contents varies slightly between different editions.

In my case it was worth buying an earlier set at a good price and then supplementing the kit with a few items that I wanted but were missing from the earlier kit.

Don't pay much attention to the number of 1/4" bits in the kit, these simply bump up the piece part numbers and the quality is not as good as Wera bits.  Focus on the main Centrotec components in the mix.

My wife is constantly shopping around looking for deals.  Whenever she buys something I never hear how much it costs, only how much she "saved" when buying it.  "I got this for --% off!" or "This is normally $$$ and I got it for $$ by shopping around and looking for deals".

Well, thanks to this sale I'm going to have the same conversation with her this coming week.  [big grin]

Good deal (even with ~$23 NY sales tax), thanks! I checked the part number at other dealers online and all that I checked still have the normal price. Seems this sale is only at Tool Nut.

Well mine just came in today. It is freakin' awesome! I also got the Carvex base kit. Totally stoked. Not to mention two of the back order Jet clamps (40") cane in too as did my first order with Bell Forest. It's like Christmas at the Chris house. Woohoo!

Mine was supposed to be delivered today, but somebody screwed up my address.  I use a po box for billing and a street address for delivery.  UPS, for some reason, only had my po box so they sent the box back to Toolnut!  Geez.  [doh]

Same thing with mine. The odd thing is there is no space in the systainer for it and when you google that number it doesn't show up (other than what looks like a 5 piece spiral drill set in other countries). I'll have to contact them as well and see what they say. It is listed in their listing as well as the one on Festools site so now I'm curious...

Secondly, is the image at the open lid supposed to be of the contents? If so, that would indicate everything is present except a Vix style self centering bit.  This is slightly confusing to me at this point... :/

It was probably a typo. I believe the 5-15mm countersink is part of the imperial brad point set so if you got the zobo installer set you wouldn't end up with one.

I got the brad point set and the countersink is in fact in there, but it's clearly listed as part of the set, not a separate part as its listed in both listings.

I've got the Zobo kit and everything in the picture is there and the countersink is the 2-8mm

I bought mine a few month ago and it didn't include the 5-15 countersink either. I just got one and some other stuff like the self centering drill bit. Also got the "Bohrsenker mit Tiefenanschlag BSTA HS D 5 CE" on the way which is NAINA.

Mine came today, it has the both of the countersink bits. The 2-8mm was floating around at the bottom (no special slot for it as far as I can tell), and the 5-15mm is inside the imperial brad set box.

And no, not everything on the picture on the lid of the box is inside this set(no self centering bit). I compared everything listed on the website to what is in my box, and all is well.

Aaron, here is the description of the two items you mentioned, straight from the listing:

- 8-Piece Countersink & Brad Point Wood Drill Bit Set 1/8"-1/2", 496942 (1)
- Centrotec Countersink Bit 5-15mm Diameter, 492541 (1)

If you look up the 8 piece set it's supposed to come with a countersink, as listed.  Then, there should be ANOTHER countersink, as listed, the 5-15mm diameter one, which is nowhere to be found in the set as far as I could tell.  So, either the listing of contents in the set is wrong on Tool Nut's site AS WELL AS the official Festool site for this set OR there are missing pieces.

I'm fairly sure ToolNut's listing is wrong. Can you provide a link to the office Festool site listing. I wasn't able to find it.

I'm able to find the official listing for the Basic Set:
http://festoolusa.com/power-tool-accessories/cordless-drills/centrotec-drill-bits/centrotec-installers-set-basic-m0701

Note that the 5-15mm countersink is not listed. I believe all other sets are based off this set.
So M0700 would be the basic set plus the zobo set (which doesn't include the 5-15mm countersink).
And 498796 would be the basic plus the imperial brad point set (which does include the 5-15mm countersink).

True to form they've now removed it rather than just saying it was discontinued. I can assure you that it was listed as I describe which is why I posted this. I'm almost positive all other sites that are still selling this set took the listing from Festool as evidenced by Highlands listing here: http://www.highlandwoodworking.com/festool-98-piece-centrotec-set.aspx

You can see their listing has it too and at the top you can see what the imperial and Zobo sets add. If you click the link to the imperial bits (which is striked out) you'll see that set includes a countersink as well. I can't imagine all the places that sold this set made up the listing and added another item unless it came from Festool itself (and at this point you'll have to take my word for it I suppose that it truly was listed on the official Festool listing, u fortunately).

Also, I just want to clarify, in no way am I trying to dupe the system or anything of that sort. I'm just trying to get to the bottom of what was listed in what I bought and the fact that it isn't there. I'm obviously not the only one that noticed this as Jim did as well. If it's listed and I paid for it I should get it. If it's an honest mistake (by everyone who lists this) then that's fine, no harm done, just let everyone know and move on. In truth I don't know how much this will affect my use of the system, probably not at all, but it does deserve clarification however.
