It isn't much but it can be seen if you are looking for it. Try a test run and see what you think before you buy the base.

It funny this came up , yesterday at the Tool Nut this topic came up for discussion and the majority of opinions if the 1.5degree base does leave a noticeable edge when used. Most guys there agreed the 0 degree base was the way to go for edge banding cleanup.

I use my MFK700s a lot and my 0 degree base more than the 1.5 degree base.

Where I do use the 1.5 degree base is trimming very thin edge banding, less that 3mm. On such thin banding the slight slop is not noticed, but the advantage is less chance of marring the top surface.

With thicker banding the 1.5 degree slope is noticeable. To trim that, you need to be careful and pay attention.

I opted not buy one but I do have the 1010 and edging plate.  If it was cheaper I'd buy one in a heartbeat.

I think the reason for the 1.5 degree base is to eliminate the need for filing or sanding.

If you use the 1.5 degree base to trim solid edgebanding (~1/4") you'll definitely see a gap when joints are butted.
