Just used my Deltex 93 sander today.  Can't say enough good things about it!

However -- I do have some ideas for making it better....

1. Put a "plug it" cord on this sander!!  I'm stripping exterior paint high up on a ladder -- switching between sanders a lot -- a plug-it cord would make life oh-so-wonderful!

2. The "slat" attachment/pad requires removing the regular pad with a phillips-head screwdriver.  These 2 screws are tiny and could (will) get lost, plus it's just inconvenient to have to search for a screwdriver to change the pad.

Toolpig,
I used the Deltex last night, and I am planning to use it more on refinishing stairs soon.  This is one of the under-reported tools in Festool's lineup!  It's pretty aggressive but smooth.

I agree with you on the design suggestions.  When switching from the Rotex to the Deltex, it feels funny to not see a Plug-It!  We get spoiled by the Plug-It.

Mine has the Festool after market plug it tail fitted - if its not available in the US, I'm sure we Europeans could send you a batch.

Can you please post a picture?  Do you have to take the sander apart for the retrofit?

I can't post a picture right away - but yes you do have to take the sander apart.  The new plug it comes from festool with a plug it socket and a tail of cable, with the ends ready bared and tinned, about six inches long.  Your remove the electrical cable from the device and replace with the tail and socket .  It is very easy to do - you don't need to be an electrician!

Is this the plug it tail you are discussing? I have one which I am going to fit to my EHL 65 but have not got around to it yet

It is Festool part# 491145. The green wire is about 8" long and the bared blue/brown wires with tinned ends are 4" long/

In the UK these are about ?12 or $24.

Kind regards from Wales

Yes Pat that looks like the part...

But "UL" or Festool USA does not think we Americans can wire a power tool correctly...

Fortunately most of us have a higher aptitude then our Bush League President Idioso...

Thats a shame Jim

But you could hurt yourself on those very sharp screws after you have taken them out of the tool.

Plus there have been numerous reports of certain Ladies of the Night using the tails to inflict pain upon paying guests. ;D

Call me old fashioned if you will, but I think they are protecting you from dumbing-down accusations. I mean it's OK for a numpty like me from a Land which thinks that sheep are intelligent creatures (and very pretty too) to fit a Plug-it but you lot have put a man on the moon. You are all over-qualified.

(who swears that a George W was on the 'How to wire a Plug-it Course' we attended in Llangochllollenwybch and couldn't get the hang of 'them spur screws').
