I have had an end table lamp for many years that featured a megaphone shaped frosted glass shade that was open at the top and closed at the bottom.

For several years it was fine.

Then our region was infested with stink bugs. They show up for a month or two and then disappear for a year or so. When they show up, they are, like moths, attracted to light. So I replaced my open shade ceiling lights with ones that were entirely enclosed so that I would not see the silhouettes of the dead bugs.

Likewise, the table lamp. At the bottom of the lampshade the corpses of the dead bugs would accumulate.

Happily, the lamp finally died and I replaced it with a lamp that has a fabric shade that is open at the top and bottom. No more accumulating corpses of bugs. No more having to vacuum them out.

A small matter, but if your region has stink bugs and you need a new lamp, something to consider.
