Dewalt 735 width?

I've had a 735 for about 3 years and I have learned not to put anything much wider than 8" through it or it will bog down and even trip my dedicated breaker!  I have to take very light passes on wider boards and it takes forever.  I agree it's under powered.   It's also extremely loud.  I'm getting close to pulling the trigger on a hammer A3-31 which will solve a host of problems.

I just recently bought the 735.  Although, I don't have any other experience owning a planer, this seems up to the task.  I planed a handful of 11" wide by 38" long, hard maple with no problems.  It was impressive how it filled up a half of a garbage can with shavings!!

I have the dewalt 735 with the byrd head.  The cut quality is excellent and it is much quieter.  However, I just got a woodmaster and it is much quieter since its spinning at a much lower rpm.  I'm debating about selling the dewalt to get some space back...don't need two planers even if the cut is much better on the dewalt.

If you're in the southern cali area PM me if your interested.

Thanks Hanshamm, but I just picked one up with three sets of new blades for $350.00. I'm in Montana and the shipping would most likely be prohibited.

I'm going to strip it to clean it all up, and while I'm at it I think I'll add some black lacquer and some green paint. I'll post some pics when I'm done, lol.
