Hi all
Got myself the festool ts55 and the midi extractor and i must say they are superb, next will
be a sander. Anyway at the moment I was wondering if anyone has the dw712 mitre saw( not able to afford a Kapex)
and if so have you been able to improve on dust extraction as i still seem to get a lot of dust thrown
out off the left side of the blade, just missing the dust port.

Many thanks
Keith

Hi Keith,

I've experienced exactly the same problem with my own dewalt saw, even when connected up to my Festool Midi. I was pondering how to improve the collection only a day or two ago when I was building a stand for it. I'll take a snap or two and add them tomorrow.  I'm interested to see what ideas come up here!

Cheers,
Mac

Hi
The saw mostly gets used in the shop, might try and add a T piece to the extraction so one hose goes to the saws extraction port and another piece of hose to a  box down near the rear of the blade where i am losing some dust.

I've come to the conclusion that DeWalt kit is designed for builders working on new houses.  Features like accuracy and dust collection don't seem to feature in their list of requirements.

I have a DeWalt CMS and a DeWalt circular saw; both throw dust everywhere in my workshop.  I've replaced the circular saw with a TS55 (superb) but I can't justify a Kapex yet...

Your DeWalt throws dust everywhere. The best is made by Festool. You have all the justification you need to get the Kapex, my friend. ;D
