Hi guys,

Looking at selling my HKC55 and upgrading to the Flexvolt platform,

The only reason i've stayed so long is due to the FSK Rails.. Yet I remember seeing a post where some clever bugger amongst us managed to mount the Dewalt saw onto the FSK Rails,

Anyone able to point me in the right direction of this?

Many thanks

~WW

I have not seen that post, but Flexvolt Dewalt DCS576T2 runs on FSK regular FS rails (edit).

Hmm.. are you sure? I'm not on about the standard fs/1400 rails as such

Sorry, I was wrong. I was thinking about FS rails.

While the FlexVolt system is impressive (I have a few tools using this platform) I hardly call it an upgrade from a Festool Tracksaw. What you are doing is changing platforms. An upgrade would be moving Mafell.

Just curious as to why you’re changing saws?  What do you like about the dewalt?

After using 2 different ones from my colleague the difference in runtime and power is night and day, the HKC55 is such a clever tool with the rails system, yet i'm so much quicker doing jobs with the flexvolt, shame really because I love the festool system.

Depends what you're line of work is, most of mine is domestic/new build. Surely an upgrade is something better than the existing? Therefore if i'm changing from the HKC55 to the Dewalt, i'd definitely consider that an upgrade. Have used quite a few Mafell tools now, don't own any myself, whilst they're brilliant tools I couldn't justify spending that money on site equipment.

I would highly recommend staying with your hkc or getting a tsc55. I have both flexvolt and a tsc and I'd pick the tsc 9 times out of 10. I'm not that big a fan of ther plunge mechanism on the flexvolt or the fact that there's no splinter guard on the saw so all ur cut offs look pretty bad... the only thing I'm a fan of on the dewalt  over the festool is the fact that you can cut both directions on the track since it has 2 track guides on ther bottom of the saw. Only other advice I can give is if you can,  try before you. Had I tried both saws before purchase I wouldn't have got the flexvolt and that's from a guy that HEAVILY invested in the flexvolt line.
