Dewalt Miter Saw Stand question

I picked up one second hand a while ago, not used it much yet though. Seems very sturdy and had obviously been well used but still in full working order.

Only thing I'd watch out for is the rubber caps/feet - mine is missing a couple and those are worn though a bit. Maybe stick them on to stop them falling off and going astray.

Mine has seen 6 years of professional every day use with a couple of large saws. It holds up well. As the previous poster noted, the rubber feet are kind of a wear item. Also, you will probably need to go around and tighten up some of the screws once in a while. They are large, Torx heads. Been meaning to Loctite them, but have never gotten around to it.

Brilliant brilliant stand. I have one for years and it has never failed me. The only downfall is the rubber feet fall off. I need new ones and I'm going to screw them on like a friend of has done and his have not gone missing on his.

don't let it rattle around in the back of your truck for a while without making sure everything is tight! there's a lot of different screws on that baby, especially when you get 2 more material supports. i just had to order some new hardware.

one thing mine is doing is the extensions don't stay locked consistently. i lock them go to carry it and one will slide out.

otherwise really great.

You won't find a better one IMO, and check out the wide roller supports or the wide regular supports.  They really make wider material much more stable and I wish the stand came with them, but at $30-$44 they are a great addition.

another thing is when using a piece of ply between the saw and mounting brackets it messes up the height of the material supports. i've had to add material otherwise they max out too low for my makita slider.

plan on making solid ply wings and fences

I had/have the stand for about 7 years. Very solid, used 2 mitre saws on it at the same time. The extensions stretch out farther than most other stands. It holds a lot of weight, I put my Ultimate Mitre stand on it (with 4 desalt brackets) and added to the extensions for a while. My buddy is using it, he borrowed it but I do not think I am getting it back  [sad]

I use the Bosch gravity mitre stand now. The only thing I do not like about it is the extensions are only about 4'6" out to the center of the blade. I have been looking at the fast cap versions and the Festool stand with the wings but thats a lot of cash  [crying]

I've had the dewalt stand for a few year and cant imagine anything better. I work out of a small van, so a stand that has ttansports the saw on it takes up too much room. I also got an extra pair mounting brackets and made a small work table that fits next to my saw. I drilled a bunch of holes like an MFT and i use the fetool clamps with it. It works great for copeing trim, fitting railing parts and eating lunch. I love having an extra work surface on site.
