new Domino user here.  Although I have used it successfully without issue for two projects.  I know to be very careful when aligning the plunge and what to reference.

I have the furniture connectors for the DF6500.

When I insert the post into the 28mm/set screw side, the post tilts downwards.  It doesn't seat inside the 15mm/captured nut side correctly.

I'll post some pics tomorrow but hoping it's a known newbie issue and I can be on my way.

I'm assuming you mean the DF 700?

No.  I mistyped.  I meant 500.

However, I have solved my issue.  When drilling the hole with the drill bit, it naturally stops.  But, push it just a little more for an extra little depth.  Maybe 1/6"?    At least for me, the natural place it should stop was just. a little shy.

I didn't quite understand your original post until you posted the fix.  It has been a while since I used the DF500 connectors, but now I clearly remember this issue.

Yes, the connector "seats" in the 15mm hole, which means having to push the drill past the natural stop of the wall of the domino slot to get it to drop into place.

Definitely brings back memories of my first connector build and the annoyances I had trying to fit 4 parallel panels into their mate without having this taken care of first...

Edit to add: More than one person just had this issue this weekend:

It's funny because this weekend I was also working on my first project with the connectors and ran into exactly the same issue as you and figured it out last night, I also posted about it here.  That issue seems to be a rite of passage with these connectors as others replied to be having learned the same lesson the hard way.
