Happy ATF 55e user signing up because I'm in need of a Domino. I'm building a slew of Plantation shutters, and the Domino will save me at least a week compared to doing M&T the hard way. And I always have projects in the pipeline -- a Domino would come in handy on most of them.

Searching for "Q-Plus" on this forum and the Reviews forum didn't yield anything. Google didn't yield anything either -- other than dozens of stores itching to put a Domino in my hands.

So, what's the difference between the two models?

Also, how often are classes held at the Las Vegas training center? I didn't even know about it until I started searching for info on the Domino.

The "Plus" comes with the Trim Stop and Cross Stop.

Now they call it the "Set" instead.

In regards to the classes, they are very popular.  You should sign up for notification of upcoming classes at this website:  http://www.festooltraining.com/

The class schedule in blank. So my question is, how often are classes normally held? Once a quarter? Once a month? Once a week?

It's great having this resource in my backyard -- I can hop on a bicycle and be at the training center in 20 minutes.

It varies, but an average might be each class happens once a quarter.

Hi Scoop LV,

First of all a great big  [welcome] to FOG.

Steve Bace is the Festool Trainer at the Henderson, NV Training Center. Although obviously you will ride your bike to classes, those of us who need a hotel usually stay at Sunset Station. Anyone requesting a hotel can do so when signing up to the class, at our expense. Included with the class is a marvelous continental breakfast each class day, as well as a wonderful lunch. Normally on the first evening immediately following class all participants who want to are invited to a class supper.

End User Classes are held as often as possible. Although the one shown on the training schedule site is in Lebanon, IN and is full, right now a schedule for at least Q1 of 2012 is being put together, so be sure to keep checking the schedule website and look for e-mail announcements.

So far the regular End User classes are:

Introduction to Festool
Advance Router Use
Cabinet Construction
Doors and Drawer Construction

Steve Bace opened a training center in Henderson, NV before he worked for Festool. There Steve trained and certified solid surface fabricators. In February 2011 Festool provided a Solid Surface Fabrication class which I found as great as all those other classes. Maybe there will be another SS class in 2012.

Having participated in one each of all these classes at Henderson, I can assure you and everyone not only will everyone open to learning gain knowledge from the class, you will make many long-term pals.

Brian Sedgeley is the Festool Trainer at USA HQ in Lebanon, IN Like Steve, Brian has so much experience to share. For most End User classes there are only 6 participants. There are 3 workstations, each with all the Festools and other equipment needed for the class. Normally you will work with a partner and there is no waiting for tools, since each workstation has a complete set.

Well, I'm derailing my own thread... but...

It doesn't make a lot of sense to me to buy/lease a building and only open it four times a year. Is there any activity there the rest of the year? Considering how many people visit Las Vegas every day, it would make sense to open a "hands-on Festool product demonstration area." This is common with high end audio, musical instruments and the like.

Scoop,

End users aren't the main use for the facility, that's where the dealers and their staff go to learn all about the tools.
