Hello,
As all Festool tools and accesories are perfectly set in order (Ordhnung!!!), however i cannot find a place where to fix bit wrench inside of systainer or on the tool? If this wrench (used for fixing the bits of df500 and df700) is not positioned in its dedicated place, it hides himself in the darkest corner of systainerand precious time is lost while searching for it.
Maybe  Festool dedicated a place/position in systainer for this wrench?
Could You share the know-how where to store this wrench?
Thanks.

There's a small convoluted area in the insert that holds the wrench.  It should be visible in the lid insert picture.

Likely someone is closer to their DF500/700 than I am and will post a picture soon, but I can post one tonight if that doesn't happen before then.

Edit:

It depends greatly on the year/Systainer that you have.  Apparently in the new Sys3, there's a small tray under the DF500 to store the wrench, and they moved the bit storage as well.  It appears on the Sys3 insert that you could also put the wrench in the forward right corner in the little slot, but I'm not 100% sure; none of my 3 DF500s are in a Sys3; they're in T-Locs or Classic Systainers.

By design (to avoid over-torque), the wrench is small and can be misplaced during storage or while in use. I attach it to something larger with a magnet and throw the whole thing in the systainer.

Here is the DF500 on the TLoc  and in the newer Sys3.
As [member=75217]squall_line[/member] noted, it wedges into a series of bumps, in the front of the unit. (TLoc)

The Sys3 tray is completely different. I'm not exactly sure that I understand why though.
I don't even know where they store the wrench in the new one. It belongs to the company, I have never even opened it, until today.

Here's the wrench for my DF700, bought a few years ago:

The first gen DF500 also has the machine on the diagonal but the little wrench sits in a depression in the floor under the square base, in the Classic Systainer.

I don't think I have ever seen a DF500 in a Classic Systainer? In person anyway. I'd be willing to bet that [member=131]PaulMarcel[/member] has one like that. I remember a lot of his old videos had Classics and even the Limited-Edition FOG logo ones.

They changed that by at least 2009, that's how old mine is (with the wrench in the corner like on T-Locs)

Does anyone know if the insert changed like that when the DF700 went to Sys3?

I get that the internal ribs might be different, thus needing to update the insert on the DF500, when they changed to Sys3, but I don't really understand the drastic re-arrangement?

Track saws do it too. My TS55 goes in with the handle facing left, as viewed from the front. The TS60 is the opposite.

Paul’s been here as long as me so I guess his DF500 is as old as mine.

Here is a picture of my 07/2007 Domino 500 in its classic systainer with the wrench shown being held in the depression. This is one of those with round stop pins.[attachimg=1]

My older pin style is similar but doesn't even have the little nest for the wrench, just a hollow tray area.

All these years I've done without, calling customer service first thing tomorrow to gripe [big grin]

I wonder what fits in the space in front of the unit itself? Those little bumps appear similar to the ones on my T-Loc style insert, but wider spaced. Certainly, they aren't random

Ha! When I saw the post about my DF-500 in the Classic, I went to take a photo. Then scrolled to see Ron had very nearly the same photo. In my case, I framed the photo to show the pins (Frank Klauz would be proud, pins first!)

I don't know what goes in that little recess lower-left corner. It has a definite shape so it doesn't look to be random. These Classics were from before Festool including the kinda Witman Sampler lid insert telling you what's where.

Mine is like VTshopdog's. No specific place for the wrench, and if you have the trim stop and wings, you don't want it all the way in the bottom, anyway. Doesn't matter much to me...my wrench broke. Must have been a flaw in the forging, because I was not leaning on it when it snapped. I replaced it with the 10mm out of an old Craftsman ignition set, and actually like it better. The weird right angle orientation of the ignition wrench is perfect for popping the motor lock.

The little bit case that comes with the tenon assortment got re-homed into the Domino Systainer. It fits perfectly in the opening of the trim stop.
