Just recently the mortices are not square with the two pieces to be joined. The result is an out of square joint.
On investigation the fence was not parallel to the base.
Adjust the fence angle and all is good, but why has it changed. Still opening fence to 90 degrees and stopping at the ball indent.
On further investigation it is not the ball that stops the fence at 90 degrees but a stop hidden under the pointer. Adjust the pointer to stop the fence at exactly 90 degrees, ignore where the ball stops the fence.
The pointer (stop) had obviously moved over time.
