DF500 Q registration pin calibration - stuck pin

I have an older Domino DF 500 (with the registration pins in the fence), am attempting to calibrate the pin location.  In order to turn the cam screw, the registration pin is pushed back fully. When I did this, the pin stuck flush, inside the fence. Now I cannot get it it pop out. I can push is slightly back in, but it then springs forward only to its current position - flush with the face of the fence.
How do I get the pin to pop out again?

If I remember correctly, you can push it from the rear.

I haven't looked at one in years, though.

Remove the fence. There is an access hole from the rear. Once you get it popped loose blow it out and a drop of light oil helps.
