Did You buy a new sander during the fall promotion?

Seeing if anyone took advantage of the fall promotion..

I picked up a RO90, RO90 abrasive systainer, firm pad and some granat paper.  I can't believe I waited so long to pick up the RO90, its an awesome little sander.  It packs quite a bit of power but unlike the other RO sanders the 90 can be easily controlled with one hand.  The overall size of the pad is the perfect size for face frames, cabinet doors and wainscot work I do.  The triangular sanding pad has been working great, helping me get the corners sanded and not leaving swirl marks like my multitool had for years.  Adding the hard pad to the RO090 helps me keep sharp outside corners and not roll the edges while sanding.  I still need to order some more paper for my 5" festool sanders before the sale is over.

I can't get over how much paper they hook you up with...

I bought a RAS 115 and a RO 125 (which should arrive tomorrow), plus systainers for the sandpaper and starter sets of abrasives for both. I would have also bought a RO 90, but I couldn't cram it into the budget.

How often does Festool do these types of promotions?

YES!  I picked up an RO90 too,  and I have to agree with you,  it is truly an AWESOME tool!
I have been stuck in ebay / craigslist mode since that,  and while I have managed to score some incredible deals lately,  I haven't taken advantage of the sale for anymore NEW tools...   gotta get on it before it ends!

the sale ends the last day of the month, right?

When are the "typical" Festool Promotions and sales held?    -or are they random?
anyone heard any news as to what might be offered in the next Festool "SALE"?

Like Dave - the RO90, granat paper, hard pad. was just shipped Friday.

Tempted to order a RAS115!

Since the RO 90 DX became available in the USA I have bought 7 of them for my shop. This way each of us can use an RO 90 at the same time.

Already I felt I had enough each of all the other Festool round sanders, so I did not buy a new sander during the promotion.

However, I did buy 2 more 90mm abrasive Systainers and a 125mm version. Plus I bought so many boxes of Festool abrasives on this deal the savings covered my recent trip to Henderson, NV for the class and I still have enough left for another class in Henderson. So I am very happy with the deal.

The promotion ends November 30th.  The promotions they run are totally random and who knows when the next one will come.

The Ras is a great sander. I use mine mainly for coping and scribing, but I find a new use for it constantly.  I took the belt sander out of the truck because I find myself reaching for the Ras to remove alot of material quickly with great dust extraction..

Promotions are not guaranteed or scheduled on a regular interval. There have been three promos and one recondition tool sale in the past 4-5 years if I remember correctly. I know of no plans for another promotion in the near future nor could I even guess what it might entail.

If you're looking to take advantage of the current sander promo, you need to order by next Wednesday at the latest. Remember that related accessories and abrasives are also on sale. So, if you run through paper, stock up. It's not like it goes bad.  [wink]

If anyone has any specific questions, let me know.

I had allready picked up the RO90 a couple of weeks before this was announced..but i did get the systainer + extra pads/paper during the sale.

A Ro90 on day one then a few weeks later a abrasive systainer for it with an assortment of Granat in 20 packs of each grit from 100 to 400 and 10 each of 40, 60 and 80 grits.

nope, I haven't had an immediate need for the 2 I've been consider ro90 and the RAS...and debating whether the few bucks savings is worthwhile while it sits around collecting dust.

Mostly hate doing it as warranties expire and I don't get to give it a good workout :/

Same Here,  Bought My RO150FEQ a week before the promo... [crying]  Imagine my shock when I saw the post about it  [eek]  Luckily I can laugh about it now... [huh] [unsure]

I bought an ETS 150.

I would like to get either a RO125 or RAS115 but should use the money for a MFT.

I know, I know!!  [big grin] It'll be whatever I bought last and it won't start for at least 31 days after I bought it...    [blink]

So you guys start looking for CT's on sale no sooner than 12/21....  [wink]

I've had a Rotex 150 for quite a while and bought the RO90 when it first came out.  I didn't think I'd need another sander as I love both of these.  However, I purchased the ETS 150/3 during the sale and find that I'm reaching for it very frequently.  I use the RO 150 with the coarser grit and the ETS 150 with 180 and higher.  I'm not sure my RO will see finer grit paper any more.

interesting to see how many RO90's and RAS115's!  as I mentioned earlier, I too bought an RO90,  and if you all could see the tab next to this one, it is a Festool-Online webpage with a RAS115 and a couple abrasive systainers in the shopping cart!

I THOUGHT that all sanders were on sale, and the day before the sale started I found out that the RS2 and LS130 were not included, so I backed them out of the first order...

(fortunately, I found a truly unbelievable deal on a BARELY used LS130 with a ton of abrasives and different sanding pads...  but everytime I find a RS2 I am a day late or a dollar short!  (anyone have one they don't need?  ::)  )

the RAS seems to be a lot more useful than I had originally thought it to be...  I had mistaken it for an "angle grinder"  which I already have several of and use regularly for coping, shaping, stripping, cutting and numerous other uses...
but since it is slower and accepts stickfix abrasive OR standard abrasive discs via the fiber backer adapter pad,  I expect this to be MUCH more useful the way I usually use angle grinders.  The videos I saw today really sold me on it,  and with so many of you picking these up, I figure I better get one while the sale is still on!

Anyone pick up a Shinex yet?
too bad it isn't offered in a systainer here in the US...
