Hi, I am based in Europe mainland and found a good deal for a ETC EC sander which has the GB code on it, after looking at the description it seems to me that the only difference is the cable with us plug on it, it says 240v like the one with the EU code so I am wondering if anyone has experience with this and if I could go ahead and get the GB version. Many thanks!

I live in Germany and have purchased several 230V machines (not Festool) that were intended for the UK market.  If I couldn't change out the cable, I cut the huge connector off the end and added a Schuko plug I bought from the local hardware store.
Be careful about buying power tools from the UK market, because not all of them are 230V 50Hz.  Some are 110V 50Hz and are made for use on construction sites.  The 110V 50Hz Festool cable connection at the machine are different than the other Festool cables.

That's great, many thanks. Yes, I checked at it is 240v so it should be ok. It is odd that the same sander is priced cheaper just because the GB code though. Fingers crossed!

There is all kinds of gray market stuff (and tax fraud) going on all the time, so I'm not that surprised at all.

Do you think I will have issues registering the tool for warranty and support if I have a GB tool and I am not based in UK? Thanks!

That’s great to know, thanks
