Differences in T drills

Thinking about buying a T drill after having held them and the C's. So, is there any reason NOT to buy the 18 rather than the 15 or 12?

I have the CXS and love it - as a kitchen installer it's perfect, but would like something heftier for those time I need to cut holes, etc. I also have the Syslite and wouldn't mind using the batteries for it.

I drilled all of this with a c15 all 3/4" and 7/8" augar bits.

The T18 has more power for a modest increase in weight and very little extra in size. I had a T18 for the briefest of time, but switched when I saw te Protool PDC18-4. So I've ended up with a C15 as my "middle" drill.

The only reason I would consider a T15 is if I wanted to share its batteries with a Ti15, otherwise the T18 has more potential.

I have the CXS and the T18, its the perfect combination.  I had the T15, but felt it was under powered compared to the T18.

I have the T18 as well. I'm not sure what the weight difference is between it and the T15 but I was shocked at how light the T18 felt.  Battery life and power have been exceptional! I recently used it to drive a few hundred 9 x 3-1/2" screws into Timber Strand studs and there was 0 hesitation (no pre drilling). My only issue was being quick enough to let off the trigger as the screw seated  [smile].  I have a Hilti impact as well but the T18 was quicker and quieter so that's what I wound up using.

The only advantage I see to the T15 currently is that the batteries can be intermixed with the Ti15 Impact and the C15. So if you had multiple Festool drill/driver/impact's you could really build up a large reserve of batteries. The 18v batteries can be used with the Syslite though (and presumably the upcoming cordless version of the Carvex).

There isn't much difference between the T18 and the T15, so geenrally it doesn't matter much which one of them you choose.

You do mention specifically you want to cut holes, and for that one the T18 might be the slightly better choice because if you want to use holesaws you need all the power you can get. I'm not so thrilled about my T15's ability to use holesaws. I'm not so thrilled about battery drills cutting holes in general, I'd rather get my corded drill.
