Here is great but simple addition for the lucky CMS router insert owners ( sold by Wixey.. more info here http://www.wixey.com/remote/index.html) and for UK owners, sold here (here http://www.machine-dro.co.uk/index.php?target=products&product_id=256)
I mounted the readout scale to the CMS using the t-slot on the underside of the CMS profile
The readout connects to the scale via a CAT5 typle cable, and plugs into the scale. To mout the scale I drilled a hole into the underside of the router plate and used a self tapping screw. I then connected the reader to the moving part of the router height adjustment
Full assembly
Fixing detail
Its as simple as that. To use, simply wind the height adjustment until the tip out the router cutter is level with the table surface (e.g. use a straight edge), hit the zero button on the readout, and then wind to the desired height, watching the readout increase to the level you want
