Haven't  posted here in a while but I recently acquired an OF2200 router and I will say I was most impressed.  I own the 1010 and the 1400 but I was able to score this bad boy and the accessory kit which is The Bomb.  I didn't have to make any any jumbo base plates the accessory kit had me covered.  I've never made a table without using traditional legs and aprons but the recent trend but a client insisted on having steel legs with no apron.  So I used the OF2200 to route the dados for the c-channel and also the mortise for the leg base.  These C-channels are 3/4" thick but the finished thickness of the slab was too thin to do a full recess.

About the wood.  My brother recently bought a horse farm and in the attic of the barn he had all these used 2" thick white oak boards that were once used to line the walls and floor of a stable.  Apparently white oak is preferred wood because it holds up well to the moisture from the horse pee pee and kaka.  But they were so badly twisted and cupped that I ended but with a finished thickness of 1 3/8".  I filled all the knots and bolt holes with Total Boat deep pore epoxy tinted black.  I had to make numerous bowties to keep all the cracks in check.  Will they hold?  Time will tell.  They add character to the top and rustic is what they wanted.  Hope you like!

Congrats on the OF2200, it is an absolutely sensational router. I've never owned a router with that much power and yet so balanced and deft to handle, even while doing incredibly aggressive machining.

It's just a sheer joy to use, looking forward to see what you do with it!

Jim, be sure to down-size your photos to no more than 1000 pixels on the long side so they will load.  [smile]

I have been leaning towards an OF2200 myself lately. I have been cutting some big rabbets into a bunch of laminate covered panels (HPL) This is somewhat taxing on my router and the bits. The Triton takes it ok, but I know that it is not really happy about running that hard for that long.
I imagine that the job will be done before I ever got one installed. That has me wavering.

I'm already spending all of the money on a TS60. It's not even here yet and I've already ordered a Plug-it fitting for it. Blade availability is a question too. The newest Festool Email shows them, but can you really get them yet? Will the local dealers be able to get them for stock?
I have a Leitz rep that comes to my workplace, and he has nothing on his radar yet.

Nice job on the table Jim... [thumbs up] ...love the colors and the simplicity of it, very clean looking. So the channel is bolted to the bottom of the table, is it also epoxied in or is it allowed to float?

Thanks!  The table and C-channel are bolted with threaded inserts.  Here's a few pics of the 14 or 15 bowties I installed to keep all the many cracks in check.

I love the look of bowties, I think they enhance any project whether it needs them or not! ;-)
