Dining Table w/ Domino?

I did a search here to see if there had been any discussion about the use of a Domino to build a dining room table and did not come across anything that really fit. I recently got a Domino and looks like we'll be needing a bit larger table in the near future. Don't know if it will be expanding or not.

Any and all input as to the strength of the joinery and "doability" of this project is very welcome!

Thanks!
Mark

Mark,

The Domino will be prefect for this application. Make sure though that the wood is thick enough so as not to telegraph the dominos. The actual strength of the joint will be from the glue. The dominos will be for alignment. I have even read that some guys here barely glue the dominos at all.

Good Luck....

Mark, try searching for "Domino table", "Domino table apron" or someting like that, you'll find a ton of hits.

Jerry Work's Domino manual (linked off of the Festoolusa website) devotes multiple pages to the construction of a dining room table.

Thanks for the replies, guys! Sorry the question has been asked- I saw Jerry's article some time ago but didn't review it as the need has arisen.

Thanks again!

No problem!  I'm a new Domino user as well and am still finding all sorts of great uses for it.  Enjoy!
