Dining table

Cherry sealed with 1:7 diluted Elmer's (anti blotch) then dyed red-brown, GF Seal-A-Cell, then seven thin coats of GF Arm-R-Seal satin, all wiped on.

I've never heard of this finishing schedule but you certainly can't argue with the results.  Wow!

Are you using diluted wood glue as a pre-stain conditioner?  Followed by an water or alcohol based dye?  Crazy!

I use Seal-A-Cell followed by several coats of Arm-R-Seal Gloss and a final coat of Arm-R-Seal Satin.  Are you thinning the Arm-R-Seal?

Great craftsmanship on the table!

Great work!  I am humbled by how productive you are.

The design, workmanship, and finishing are all top notch!

One question, on the leaves, how are the cross pieces joined to the table top.  Is that a sliding dovetail?

Hope you do chairs someday, I bet they would be great!

That is one breathtaking build!  Please give us more info on the finish process you used.

Is there onboard storage for the table leaves?

Thank you for sharing.

Love it! I will look at your design as I need/want to build a dining table myself in the spring/summer to accommodate at least 12 people with expansion options to maybe 16/18.

Also interested in that glue concoction? Are you sanding afterwards or simply applying coats on top?

Like layout of top boards going width wise vs length but how does that work out with expansion?

Thanks and great looking table

Love the way you matched the chairs.  Did you to the square mortises by hand?
