Just in time for Christmas we got it done this dining  table that will seat 9 people  also the bread boards are removable and can be replaced with larger boards that will be able to seat 12 people when whole family is in for holidays
The customer remodeled his house about two year ago, so he saved bunch of Douglas fir 2X4 for the top
Base is made out reclaimed read oak with light stain
For finish we used General finish Enduro-Var water based urethane satin about 6 coats

Nice stuff...I am such a huge fan of Doug fir, tough, strong & beautiful, what's not to like?

Really nice job...

Brilliant move on the huge floating oak tenons.  Could you share some details about the horizontal routing setup you used to do the mortises in the legs.

And what is the hardware you employ to make the table expandable?

Hi
It't horizontal mortise  ,  Router mounter on a rails, Similar to JDS Multi-Router  but this machine the  work peace is fixed,  router moves left to right up and down
Local furniture builder took old design and made a new machine, It doesn't not comes with stand I build it my self

On the bread boards its just dominoes and two aluminum plates that are fixed to the end board,  You have to unscrew three bolts under the table and it just slides out

Nicely done!  I might have to borrow your leg base design for a console table.
