Disappearing threads

How come a thread can just disappear?One minute it's are there, the next gone. Deleted by the moderators?

Nigel,

Usually a thread is not deleted by a moderator unless that thread is started by a spammer and the thread only contains the one post.  If a thread like that happens and another member has posted in it also, then we try to let the others who have posted there know that we are deleting the thread.

There could also possibly have been an issue with the software, and on very rare occasions - a thread might be deleted at the request of the original poster.  I can only think of one even remote possibility of that happening in the last two years.  Usually the thread might get locked instead.

What thread were you looking for?

I can't remember the exact title but it was the one about using the mft to fit a cms module [I think]. Last thing I remember was JMB saying he didn't have the cms saw module.

The thread in question was removed because it was demonstrating a practice that is not condoned as a safe  modification of the MFT by Festool.

It was removed as opposed to locked because of the safety concern.

It's removal had been missed  when threads of that type (safety issues) had been deleted at the time Festool acquired the FOG.
