Hi - seeking some guidance from the good folk in the FOG. I need to replace a broken fan on my ES 125 but cannot remove the bearing cover for some reason as the spindle bearing seems well and truly stuck to the spindle (in the red circle of the image). I'm pretty sure there are no retaining screws left, and I have removed the spindle washer and circlip and soaked it in WD40, but the armature spindle seems well and truly stuck to the spindle bearing. I've tried various sizes of persuader, and have attempted to heat the alloy cover with a small blow torch, but it seems stuck fast. Any (sensible) suggestions would be welcome!

Mike

If the end of that exposed shaft is threaded, stick a bolt in it and give it a few good straight inline whacks with a hammer. No need to be delicate about it.

...no joy, even with a club hammer. I'll purchase a puller and if that fails it will have to be consigned to the bin unfortuantely, which is a shame as it was my first every Fest
