Do you know about the Sortainer 4 and 6 deals?

Over the last 6 months I have purchased 2x6 Drawer and 1x4 Drawer Sortainers from Amazon for ~$112 each rather than the standard NA price of $175. The key is to check other sellers.  Amazon UK sometimes sells either the 4 or 6 drawer model at the reduced price with FREE shipping via DHL to the states if you have an Amazon Prime membership.  Heck of a deal IMO.  I've got all I need, so I share this now with you.  [tongue]

Festool 491984 Sortainer 6 drawershttps://www.amazon.com/dp/B0014999B2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apan_i_WV016C81MM4V2YSNQP3W?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Man, I wish these had T-locs, so they don't have to be on the bottom of my stack.

I have to wonder how Amazon does this.  Substantially cheaper than the manufacturer's fixed price and they pay for overseas shipping via DHL.

Great deal. Thanks! Do you know where I can buy smaller drawer? (one that's 1/2 size of 6 drawer set)

It only seems to be the Sortainer 6 at the moment. Seems to have gone down to $106.91 so I ordered one earlier today.

Regular price for Festool 491984 including 19% VAT in Germany, converted to todays US$ is $90.

European (EU) sellers can deduct the VAT if shipping outside of the EU.

Don't know if there is an embargo on shipping Systainers to end-users outside of Europe?

See Festool 200119. $70 in Germany

I think they each have their share of fans and haters. I have neither btw. I don't really trust some plastic handle to hold a massive amount of screws. I have some steel boxes fully loaded.

BTW, I noticed on a label that T-Lock is rated for 25 Kg’s max..

25 kg each and 100 kg stack?

But long before 25 kg the lid will open a lot in the front corners.

That whole idea of attaching things to the lid of the box below instead of the box below just results in a lot of flex when lifting stacks. Same thing with the Sortimo (Bosch) L-Boxx's generation 4; you lift the stack, first it flexes the top lid, then the lid below, the lid below that etc. before it finally lifts off.

I've purchased these from Germany back when shipping to the US wasn't so extortionate.

4-Drawer model just dropped to $107 at Amazon UK.  It said it is their last one.  Just bought it.

Invoice indicates that Amazon is eating $40 in international shipping fees.  Coupled with selling it at around $70 off, you have to wonder is this is a glitch in their algorithms.

Looks as though there are now a few more 4-drawer ones in stock so I just purchased another. Pretty hard to pass up at that price.

I don't think it's a glitch. Amazon UK sometimes have good deals.  Just bought 4,6,12 sortainers. All about $70-80 off. Great deal :)

I picked up an extra 4-drawer, shipping in July. I also found the hole drilling set 584100 for $480 (vs $555) using the same Amazon global store UK trick. It says 4-6 weeks ETA with no firm ship date, but luckily I’m not in a hurry.
