Does anybody own an Incra LS Positioner

Hello all!  I've just ordered an Incra LS Positioner 17 today and I was wondering if anybody owns one and had any feedback.  I watched quite a few videos and my mind was pretty much instantly made up.  Plus Mr. Buggeln raves about his!  I am not new to woodworking, but I recently began the venture into making cabinet doors and drawers instead of ordering out.  The system seems really precise and quite versatile.  Input is welcome!

I have had one on my router table & tablesaw for several years.

You made a great choice builderbob! I have the 17" LS as well. It makes set up , adjustment, and going back to the same setting later sooooo easy. Did you also get the full package with Wonder Fence?

I also have a Woodpeckers PRL. The combination of quick, easy height adjustment and fence adjustment is really great!

Hey Seth!

I got the super system for sure!  I couldn't see not having the wonderfence...especially since that seems to be the only place there is dust extraction. Plus I can use larger moldings without having to always have subfences.

Also, I may go for the router lift eventually, but I can add that later on. I already have my Triton 3 1/4 attached to a magna lock plate, so I'm ok using that for now!

I have the Incra LS 17'' router setup.  I love mine.  I bought the router lift and a Porter Cable 7518 router to go with it.  I like the fact that I can change the bit above the table, saves a lot of time and is easy on the back.  One thing I need to get  are some offset wrenches for the collet and router.  I scrape my nuckles on the table when changing bits. The dust collection on the fence works like a champ.  I have a shop vac with a Vortex from Rockler hooked up to the fence.  I plan on building a box to enclose the router for dust collection when doing dado's.  The positioner alone is AWSOME!  I love the fact that I can micro adjust the fence and creep up on my mark.  Also, 1/2'' ply or mdf fits into the legs to enclose the whole frame. Or you can make your own cabinets under the table.  Thats one project I need to do in the next couple months.  If you need to move the router table around then pick up the wheel kit. 
The table is solid!  I think you will be very happy with it.

Here is my littel set up.  Wish I would have bought the wheel kit.  I will pick one up in a couple weeks when I'm done with my current job.  Which is building some cabient doors and drawers.  15 doors and 8 drawer fronts. 
This is the best router table I have owned.
I also liked the jointing feature of this fence.  Easy to set up and with the speed of the router I got  a perfect edge on a board.

Thanks for your thoughts Erock!  I may have to contact you guys if I have any questions although the system seems pretty self explanatory and the book that comes with it seems great to show you all the different dovetails and box joint setups!  Thanks again for your input!

Those demo videos sold me too.  You can buy directly from Incra Incramental Tools.  Actually got mine yesterday and am headed down to set it up in a few minutes!

That's exciting!  I did order mine through my local Woodcraft...surprisingly a few dollars less than through Woodpeckers. I've been frequenting my Woodcraft for quite a few years an have a really good business relationship with the owner and staff, so I'm really into supporting him and his business in any way that I can!  Woodcraft isn't always the cheapest, but he's close and he's gotten me outta a few jams in the past!

I did also order the Mark Sommerfeld 6 pc cabinetmakers router bit set. His bits are comparably priced and his matched height system is wicked smart. I've watched his series twice an it seems like it should aid in simplicity!

Wow bob you and I are on the same page. I also ordered bits from sommerfeld and I think they have good bits.and the customer service is great.one bit was shipped damaged and was replaced quickly. Seems like we have the same taste in tools.

I would call it good taste!  That's my biased opinion...lol. I try to make my life as easy as possible...hence my Festool collection!  We can definitely bounce thoughts and ideas off each other since we're on parallel paths!!!

I have that set, makes the rail and styles super easy.  Especial when you combine it with the easy set jig.  Takes all the guess work and trial and error out of the equation.

I've had the Incra fence on the TS/Router table for years. I'm not sure it's the LS though, I think I have the older version? Basically
the TS III package. Been wanting to upgrade to the LS, but....

I mostly had it on there for very precise adjustments to the fence (duh!) for making M&T joints. Now that I have the domino.....

Anyway, great fence system. I have my router table mounted on the side of the TS and reposition the fence on the rails so I can use it
for both.

I have the Woodpeckers PRL. It does for the vertical , what the LS Positioner does for the horizontal.

On the dust collection. I have not really used the through the fence that is on the Wonder Fence other than an initial try out. I  set mine up with a 4" line to  a regular DC unit. My feeling is that the 4" pulling from underneath gets more of the dust and chips.  At first I used both the 4" and the vac on the fence. I discovered that the fence DC wasn't doing much because the 4" got it first. I quit using it and blocked off the through the fence opening. I like the 4" because it works with or without the Wonder Fence attached, and the air flow helps keep the router motor cool.

I was looking through Incra for a miter guage, and ran across the LS videos. I want one! Thought about getting one even though I would have to buy a saw too. It wouldnt work on my Ryobi BT3000. I did however decide on an Incra Miter 3000 SE. I scored one off of Amazon for $84, and free shipping!
