Does anybody own the Kapex UG mount from Multiblades.com?

I just purchased the Kapex mount for the UG extensions from Multiblades.com. I was wondering if anybody has purchased these yet as I know there has been quite a bit of conversation regarding the lack of crown stops on the new UG arms. I'm just looking for feedback as I've already purchased the mounts!  I had made extensions for the Kapex back a while and they are just too heavy/bulky to lug around and I purchased the UG extensions!  I really like them and I do a lot of crown so I'm hoping these will fit the bill!  I really don't like the option of spinning the arms to the backwards position!

Thanks in advance for your input!

I'm thinkin it's gonna be a good choice!  Hey Seth!  Can you change my spelling in the title of the thread? I misspelled multiblades!  I'm not sure how auto correct corrected that incorrectly!  Lol

Thanks!

I guess I'm the guinea pig here for this one!  I'll let you know my thoughts as soon as I get em...cuz I need em!

I've had them since they first came out.  I use them with my Kapex and sawhelper.  THey work as advertised.  Can't speak to functionality on other brands of extensions.

For ease of use with the Kapex, UG and sawhelper combination I highly recommend it.

That's exactly what I was hoping to hear lpand!!!  Thanks for your input...I'm excited to receive them!

Ordered them for my sawhelper pretty much the day they were released.  They work great and the ability to attach clamps and different jigs is a great option. You wont be sorry

Looks like a very useful mod for the kapex when using the extension.

Until I stumbled upon these, I was hesitant to pull the trigger on ordering the UG extensions...as much as I really wanted them but also wanted a practical way cut crown upside down. I'm not much for using quick grips for a task like that.

I'll be sure to let you know my thoughts since all the others responses are for saw helper brackets (which is cool to be able to adapt those too)!

I do not have the Kapex YET. But will be ordering it before the end of the month.  [big grin]

Pulled the trigger this last Monday.  Order the Kapex, the cart and the Left/right extensions.  Did not have the money for the addition CT.  But I do have two exter shopvac sitting around.

But, the biggest problem is the  Kapex is BACKORDERD   [sad] [crying]. So I will be getting the cart and the extensions this week and will be waiting for the Kapex.

Congrats Greg!  I would lend you my Kapex until you get yours, but we're opposite coasts. Bummer!  I've heard theres a Kapex queue.

Will the extensions fit in there carrying "case" with the mount in place?  I don't want to loose the ability to pack them up easily just to gain another feature.  Has anyone tested this or is someone willing to test it?  Thanks, everyone!

I switched to the Multiblades mount. Yes they do fit into the carrying case. As I recall you will need to move the legs one way or another so the end fits into the plastic case. Also if you are going to use the extensions on your MFT you will need 2 smaller knobs to tighten down the mount when on the MFT as the ones from the extensions are to wide.

I decided to go for it and got the UG Mounts delivered and installed this weekend.  I think there is a new version since this thread started, they do not fit in the case because the locking knob is too large and the plastic end cap cannot slide over it.  Assuming a better replacement knob can be found as a replacment the mounting plate for the leg will need to be loosened at the other end and slide down a few inches so the end cap can cover it to hold it in place.  This unit is being sold as a Kapex UG mount but it is really a universal mount, its 2 plates with nuts in between at 4 places to adjust the height of whatever fence you have attached it to, to the height of the item the unit is  attaching to.  This is excessive, if it truly is a Kapex UG mount then it should be one piece like the one it is replacing.  The other downside is where the locking knob levers against is 1/16" steel with nothing behind it, you can keep tightening the knob and the plate starts to bow and then you can still go further, there is no positive stop and you don't bottom out ever which means if your not paying attention you will break or damage something which is a feature I might be ok with on a fixture I built but not great on something that I paid for.  I will attempt to modify what needs modifying and happily use it as it will increase the capabilities of my saw but I feel this is not a product that is finished.  Multiblades won't answer your questions about compatibility, ie... the end caps working with the product installed, and just say it "may not work".  Actually, they said it will not work so they were upfront about it.  It was also a bit strange that out of all their products this one says "Sorry, we accept no returns on this item".  Multiblades should also make a 1 piece bracket just for the Kapex that works out of the box with the end caps and charge me 200$ for it, I would have bought it.  That's my rant, I'm happy I bought them just wish there was less work to do to get it to work properly.  I hope this helps others in their decision making.

I have used them for quite a while.  They are excellent!  I made the homemade wooden supports.  It seemed a little crazy to buy the Festool extension wings.
