On the very top of my Dominio there are a couple of black plastic/rubber do dads and one (part number (466093), which is item 32 on the Dominio parts list http://www.festoolusa.com/Web_files/SP_Domino_DF500Q.pdf, broke the other morning when I went to the garage to use the machine. I was very cold over night and perhaps the cold made the piece brittle and I bumped it and it broke off.

I can't see any functional use for the part, other than to cover the metal. Do I need this part for anything?

I could not load the file picture, and I'm not an authority, but I believe the plastic simply trims off the sharp corners of the machined metal.

The tool functions without the piece.  I replaced the part when the same thing happened to me.
Festool Parts sent me a replacement for little or no charge.

It is not an important part, but why not replace it? It costs only $1.12. Give Festool a call and they'll send it to you. Probably for free if your Domino is still under warranty.

If it's the part I think it is, the functionality is to prevent you can slide the pieces of the fence apart.
If I have a part like that broken, I'll order a new one, but wait a bit, so I can order it together with other parts /accesories I want/need that have to be ordered, because the dealer I order the stuff from orders it very quickly, and provides free delivery as a service, and I don't want to feel like I'm abusing that.

Those two caps are what keep the fence face from lifting off its slides. One member here specifically removed them so he could eek out a little more height in his fence adjustment. Replacing them or not replacing them is not a big deal.

Thanks for the replies .... I will order a new part when I have some other items to get from Festool.  Might as well have everything intact.
