Domino 500 Baseplate etching not perpendicular to face

Hello, I purchased a used Domino 500 is great condition.  The Domino alignment always seems to be off by 1-2mm so I decided to check alignment. When calibrating the plastic scale to baseplate the required adjusted was more than the scale would move to the required side.  This seemed odd so I checked the alignment of etching on base plate for curiosity.
The etching is not perpendicular to the cutting face.  I double checked this with several squares and got the same result.
Could this be throwing off the cutter and causing joints not be come out flush?

Thanks in advance!

[member=81891]VBruce[/member]  I've never checked my etching to see if it was perpendicular to the base side, but off the top of my head it seems it would not matter as long as the line ends up at the exact plunge center spot when it meets the edge/face of the machine.  Which in your case it is apparently not.  Question, though.  Have you checked the alignment between the cursor and the center line on the top of the face (visible looking overhead from the domino).  That is the crucial measure when doing fence operations.  The only time the bottom centerline really comes into play is if you're using the domino plate or similar accessory.  I would check the alignment between the cursor and the top centerline first, and if that is correct then it becomes a question of whether that top mark is in line or not with the bottom etching.

On the plastic cursor, the holes could always be widened if you need more adjustment.
