Do the latest Domino 700 XL's have the Cleantec twist-lock dust extractor connectors fitted or do they still come with the ribbed push- on ones?

Thank you.

I think the only tools with the new connector are a couple of sanders at this point.

Thank you for your reply.

I bought the Domino 700 XL today and it, and the 500, have had the Cleantec connector fitted (apparently) since September 2016. In the box was a D27 hose adapter for the old style push-ons.

Fantastic bit of kit and superb service from Paul Otter of Axminster Tools, Warrington.

[member=1421]PatR[/member]  Where do you live? We don't have the connector on the Domino yet in North America.

As a side note, at some point the new connection will be a spare part as well, so customers will be able to convert their old Dominos if they want to do so.

Hello Tyler, in the UK.

I asked the question as I was about to purchase an XL700. Whilst the 2017 (UK) Festool catalogue shows the Cleantec icon on both Domino machines, the 700 XL on display had the 'old' ribbed push-on connector.

The one I purchased today has the Cleantec connector fitted and a 2016-12 date stamp on the model data plate. I will speak to Festool UK tomorrow regarding the availability of a conversion connector for my Domino 500 as the male end fitted on the machine has a much smaller profile.

That aside it is a belting bit of kit, I swear it runs smoother than the 500 and the 14mm mortice slot is fantastic.

The DF 500 Cleantec connector is already available from Festool (#10027879).
And these Cleantec connectors are available for a lot of other machines.
Some are cheap plastic parts (RO90/150/PS420/DF500/700) and others are complete metal castings like on the ETS/DTS/RTS sanders.

So, the new connector availability is region specific ?

EU has them.
UK has them.

what about Australia ?

seems NAINA right now, but coming soon ?  Is that correct [member=57769]TylerC[/member] ?

All that I know is North America. It isn't available here yet. We don't know a date yet, but it could be soon.

Nice. Id love to convert my DF 500. Since these arent in the US yet, who can I get them from thatll ship to the US and not kill it in the shipping costs?

Purchased my XL700 in late December in the U.S. and it came with the cleantec hose port on the tool and a D27 cleantec hose adapter pn 10019348 in the systainer. Sticker on XL700 has a 10/16.

I spoke to a delightful lady at Festool UK regarding a Cleantec adapter for my old Domino 500 and she had one sent to me from Germany. Thank you Tracey for your very professional and courteous service.

I have fitted it to the 500 but the Systainer insert needs a slight mod for it to fit.

Oh no... How did you modify that plastic insert?

I got a DF 500 today, and it has the twist connector.  It fits the systainer insert that came with it perfectly.  I will comment that the Systainer insert doesn't have a place for a 4mm bit, which seems like it is either an oversight or must not have been updated in a while.

Yea my older Dominos insert doesnt have a place for the 4mm bit either. Good to know the CleanTec connector fits in the plastic insert though. I think I read that once the TS 55 REQ gets the new CleanTec adapter it doesnt fit in the Systainer perfectly anymore.

My Domino DF500 was bought when they were first introduced and I have recently replaced the extractor connector with the new Cleantec twist adaptor. The new adaptor profile is slightly longer and wider and projects further away from the Domino body once fitted on the machine. It will not fit the old Systainer insert unless you remove a piece of the insert with a sharp knife or in my case, a Dremel with a PVC cutting disc.

The latest DF500's, factory fitted with the Cleantec twist, have a new insert to match the change in profile. These are available in the UK at around £15 should you wish.

This is true about the ts55 mod. I just unclick it. It twists off in a jiff.
