Hi

Potentially stupid question but anyway - considering purchasing a DF500 to help me build bookcases, wardrobes etc. I was looking at the Domino Connector System - let's say I'm building a bookcase 300mm deep with 18mm ply, is it sufficient to use one connector 50mm in from each edge (so 2 connectors per shelf at each end) or do I need to also add 2 wooden dowels next to the 2 connectors as well?

Thanks in advance.

The pictogram manual that comes with the KV D8 connector set shows a domino in the center of shelves when using the D8 expandable insert but no domino when using the 5mm confirmat pins.  The only other items on the diagram are that the connectors must be more than 37 mm from the edge of the work piece.  I've always used a center domino along with two connectors, or sometimes a center connector with two dominos (when I'm pinning the piece from two out of 4 sides, for example).

Unfortunately, there is not a solid guide on this similar to the guidelines that are shown for the Lamello Zeta P2 with minimum and maximum separations.

Here's a handy supplemental "guide" video for the 500 connector system from  [member=11196]Peter Parfitt[/member] :

I would put another Domino in the center of the shelf too. You already have the location, by whatever method you used to index the ones at the end, adding one more is easy.

"I would put another Domino in the center of the shelf too."

Since the Domino connectors are less than 8" apart...

Thanks guys, some very useful advice there and Peter's video was also very informative indeed.
