Domino Cross Stop Issue: Barrel Pin Stuck/No spring

I was an idiot and got a small amount of yellow glue on (or inside) my cross stop pin. I took the barrel (slide) apart to remove the glue...now there's no spring to the pin. Is there supposed to be a spring around or below the pin? Wondering if I either lost something, or just don't understand how the mechanics of the pin are supposed to work. Regardless, it's not functional at this point, so if anyone has any ideas for a fix, let me know!

Search here for model specific parts:

Interesting...Festool is saying that item #1 is a non-rebuildable part as far as the pin/spring/assembly go.

Also, this link just gets you to the basic ekat page. You still have to walk through the steps. That's rather clunky... [eek]

Yeah, that's what sort of blew me away. Replacing that part is about halfway to buying an entire new cross stop. I'm Thinking I might try and get my own spring in there. Almost positive one didn't come out during disassembly, though. Flabbergasted.

I was also shocked at the price. [eek]

Just curious how you disassembled the unit?

Once you unscrew that back nob, and remove the plastic "notch piece" (parts 6,7,8), it exposes the shaft that the pin rides in. I took the hex wrench that i used to loosen the set screw (unlisted, however it's located at the top portion of the barrel) and I gently pressed upward to try and break it loose from the glue. The pin and the barrel that it rides in (all one, machined part) popped out of the plastic holder.

I'll try and post some photos. I should have known to be more weary of where my pin was riding, but I'm still surprised that a bit of yellow glue effectively kills the accessory  [eek]
