I've made 10 of theses large serving/cutting boards as presents. The edges are either black or brown bony and the centers are either Bubinga or Acacia.

The edges are Domino'd with #4 Dominos. Cutting the mortises into the trim edges was tricky until I decided to use double sided tape to affix them to a larger piece of wood for cutting.

I'd really like a nice way to mount the domino and "plunge the work piece" !!

Lovely work BTW [wink]

Very nice, what are the demensions, I have some rosewood which would look nice as the edging.

About 18" to 22" long, 8" to 10" wide and about 1" thick. The edge pieces have worked out to be about 7/8" wide. I made one that was 24" long.

I vary the dimensions to get the best figure showing.

I made one for my wife from a slab of rosewood that came out to be about 36" long and 12" wide. It's a beast and she loves it.

They are all finished with a few coats of butcher block oil.
